Rescue Platform
At the core of Plan B DR’s service is a propitiatory software system that runs the Plan B DR snapshotting, transmission, conversion, testing and invocation processes. The system is fully automatic and uses ITIL system management principles to ensure quality and security.
The system uses an embedded configuration management data base (CMDB) and ticketing subsystem to track and manage processes and results. The ticketing system reports any errors, such as failed rescue image tests, for investigation by Plan B DR engineering staff.
The automation and continual testing elements of the Plan B DR system are the keys to the efficiency of the service and to knowing that we will be able to recover a customer’s systems if and when they need it.
Our Rescue Platforms are designed around an N+1 architecture at all levels based on best of breed technology for both hardware and software. Below is a logical system diagram of a Plan B DR rescue platform also showing the various Internet based ways of possible connection for a customer:
